About Us

Who we are, where we come from, and where we're headed as a church family

Who we are

Harvest Baptist Church is a community of Christ-followers who are focused on knowing God and making Him known, and who worship together in the rich tradition of the Baptist Church.

Where we come from

On September 10th 1978, Pastor Glendy Hamilton opened Sunday School with one in attendance, himself. The Morning Worship had a total of 10 people and after the message, three came forward to unite with the preacher to begin the body of Harvest Baptist.

The church grew to a total of 15 by January of 1979 and was relocated to 45 North Parramore Avenue. The body of believers continued to witness and win many souls unto the Christ until it became necessary to relocate to the present location. The Lord God provided the body of 50 saints to float a $120.000.00 note to purchase the new place of worship at 514 South Parramore Avenue.

Where we’re headed

The growth of the church has continued by God’s grace and more areas of service have opened for the saints to be used for God.
Harvest has a Men’s fellowship on Saturday morning, Bus Visitation, Choirs, Christian Academy, Children Summer Programs, Jail Ministry, Samaritan Sisters, Bible School for all ages, and other ministries for reaching the lost and strengthening the saved. PRAISE GOD!
